Portland Street CDC is dedicated to the development of all the children in our care. We have a play-based curriculum focusing on all areas of development, including early literacy, social & emotional development, and gross motor development. We're open from 6:30AM to 6:00PM, Monday - Friday, with full and part-time schedules available. We provide breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner snack for everyone, made fresh from scratch in our on-site kitchen.
We are a Public Non-Profit Corporation, established in 1984. We have been serving the families of Eugene and the surrounding area for over twenty five years. We provide top quality, comprehensive, and affordable child care services while also providing competitively paying jobs to our caregivers.
All children go through stages of development, but not necessarily at the same age. Each child is an individual who needs to be challenged to acquire new skills and to achieve new levels of interacting with other children. At Portland Street, we encourage children to explore, create, and experiment naturally through play.
Our goal is to create a safe and stable environment that parents and children find supportive and comfortable. Our Center is bright, clean, and stimulating. Babies and young children can trust that all of their needs will be promptly attended to. We always handle children with love and respect for their needs. We believe that building strong self-esteem prepares a child to live happily and creatively throughout her or his entire life.
The Center is licensed and inspected annually by the Child Care Division of the state. The CCD can be reached at 541-687-7392, extension 4273. We are also inspected annually for Sanitation and Fire safety. A copy of the CCD codebook and the inspection reports are available in the office should you wish to look at them.
Portland Street participates in the USDA food program.
