So begins the Gospel According to Saint Mark, and so begins our welcome to you. We hope the information available at this Saint Mark site will introduce you to the mission and ministry of our parish. We also invite you to join us in sharing our common life in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, in whom we celebrate forgiveness, new life, hope, and mercy for the whole world. Please explore our site and share with us your thoughts and insights concerning what you find and learn among us. On November 7 at 3 P.M., the Rev. Charles Mantey will be installed as the new Pastor of Saint Mark. The public is cordially invited to join us in this joyous occasion. A reception will follow. See the order of service for the installation here.

Nov. 7 - Heidi Wold, director of Salem-Keiser Meals on Wheels, will share her views of food as ministry and as an expression of faith.

Nov. 14 - Our Reconciling in Christ discussion continues in this forum.

A CD and three DVDs are now available for Dr. Stephen Bouman's presentations as Saint Mark's Visiting Theologian this year. Contact the Church Office or Chuck Dietz for details.

Pastor Charles Mantey will be installed as our Pastor on Sunday, November 7, at 3 P.M. All are invited! His first Sunday worshiping with us is October 31st.

On Sunday, September 19, Dr. Stephen Bouman preached in our worship as part of his work with us as this year's Visiting Theologian. Dr. Bouman was the Bishop of the NewYork Metropolitian Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) during the 9-11 attackes. He is currently the Executive Director for the ELCA's Evangelical Outreach and Mission Unit. You can listen to his sermon here.

An audio (mp3) CD are now available which contains the five presentations he made during the week-end. Also, Video DVD's of each of his main presentations are available. A optional donation of $3 per CD or DVD is suggested to cover the cost of producing these materials. Contact the church office or Chuck Dietz to order these discs.
