Our basic treatment philosophy is centered on the patient being an active participant in their care. Overall care may include varied forms of medication therapy, surgical intervention(s), ergonomic advice and interventions, body mechanics education, as well as tips on ways to reduce stress in their lives and improve overall function. In conjunction with this, it is expected that the patient will be a responsible participant with all treatment interventions. It is our sincere hope that as a result of the patients care with us, they will become more educated in making informed decisions concerning their health that will enable them to become more self-reliant, experience less pain and improve their function and quality of life.
Herniated/Bulging Disc - epidural steroid injection series; minimally invasive decompression techniques through a needle; diagnostic enhancement with provocative discography
Low Back Pain - lumbar facet injections possibly leading to radiofrequency neurolysis, with dramatic relief averaging 3-6 months
Spinal Compression Fracture - Vertebroplasty, often yielding immediate relief
Shingles - epidural injection series (stellate blocks if facial); the first injection usually drops the pain by 50%
Reflex sympathetic Dystrophy - Series of sympathetic blocks
Pelvic Pain - Caudal injections or alternative; possible spinal stimulator
Headaches - Occipital nerve blocks; Botox injections (often dramatic); possible occipital stimulator implant in the refractory cases
Cancer Pain - numerous options including neurolytic techniques, spinal infusion or nerve infusion catheters. Especially beneficial for the nerve pain related to cancer spread
Failed Spine Syndrome - Judicious use of spine injections; Spinal stimulator or spinal infusion pumps
These therapies yield best results when combined with the multidisciplinary therapeutic approach.
