Special Legislative Note
OMPA understands that two the primary issues facing Oregonians and the Oregon legislature are jobs, and the extreme challenge of managing the state's budget. That is why OMPA supports Oregon's ongoing efforts to build jobs and grow the economy with smart programs that also raise revenue for the state to pay for those efforts. The programs that support jobs in Oregon's media production industry do just that. OMPA applauds the Oregon legislature for maintaining these programs for the past 6 years, and we encourage the 2011 legislature to continue them. The economic impact is immediate, reaches across many aspects and all regions of Oregon's economy, and cultivates an industry which promises to grow in the 21st Century.
If you are an industry member, please consider reaching out to your State Representative and State Senator about how further development of our industry positively impacts your livelihood.
A few things to note:
It is your state (not federal) legislators who have the most impact on these issues.
Secondly, please just reach out to your own legislator.
Whenever you reach out to a legislator, our job is to build allies, so please don't be confrontational or tell them "what they need to do."
