Established in 1974 by shipwright Deny Charlot, the companyearned a solid reputation for its intricate woodworking,painting andability to tackle any repair or installation job.
At 6,000+ square feet,Charlot Marine's shop has room to fit two or three vessels,withadditional work space in the yard.Weshare officespace with Tomahawk Boat Works, a do-it-yourself boat repair yard,and Sexton's Chandlery, one of the lasttrue chandleries.
Brooks Dollar,the current owner of Charlot Marine,installed a state of the art hydraulic swaging machine. The rigging shop holds an inventory capable of swaging 2.5mm- 3/32" to 11mm - 7/16"wire. Your rigging materials can be dropped off orshippedto the shop for hydraulic swaging.Fixing boats isour passion. We'd love to help yourig,repair or remodel your boat. Charlot Marine is locatedon Hayden Island, in the heart of Portland's boating community. We face the North Portland Harbor and are east of Schooner Creek, which is located on the far end ofTomahawk Island to the west of theI-5. Hayden andTomahawkIslandsmake upthe conjoined land where Jantzen Beach mall is located.
From the I-5 Northbound, take the Jantzen Beach exit, stay to your right and proceed East along Tomahawk Island Drive. From the I-5 Southbound, take the Jantzen Beach exit, take a left at the light, then follow under the I-5 overpass. At the stop sign, take a right on Tomahawk Island Drive.
