The France program promotes both physical and mental development of the student by improving coordination, self-discipline, confidence and social awareness. The art of dance has long been acknowledged as one of the finest arts for bodily exercise.
The France School of Dance teachers are qualified to serve the needs of beginner to advanced students. Carole France Janes, the director of the Keizer/Salem FSOD, is a professionally trained dancer and instructor, trained in ballet/pointe/tap and jazz (Children a Specialty). Carole studied dance in Oregon and then moved to Los Angeles, California during the 1950’s, to continue her dance training. Some of Carol's instructors were Eddie Gay, Willie Covan and Al Gilbert. Carole moved back to Keizer and opened her own dance studio in 1960.
Linda France Martin, the daughter of Carole, is a partner of the Keizer/Salem studio. Linda is also the owner of the Rickreall studio. Linda has studied dance since the age of 5. She started with tap and ballet then went on to study jazz/lyrical and hip-hop. Carole and Linda continue to attend dance seminars and dance conventions to stay current with the latest technique and styles of dance.
Linda opened the Dallas, Oregon France School of Dance in 1992 and then moved to Rickreall, Oregon in 2000.
