Judo is many things to different people. It is a fun sport, an art, a discipline, a recreational or social activity, a fitness program, a means of self-defense or combat, and a way of life. It's best known for it's spectacular throwing techniques but also involves considerable grappling on the ground utilizing specialized pins, control holds, arm locks, and choking techniques. Judo emphasizes safety, and full physical activity for top conditioning. Judo is learned on special mats for comfort and safety.

Hapkido includes a vast variety of arm and leg joint locks, weapon techniques, throwing, kicking, hitting, and nerve pressure techniques. This is not a martial sport but a martial art, which is outstandingly suitable for self-defense. It can be learned both by men and by women, regardless of age, and provides complete physical conditioning improving balance, posture, flexibility, timing, quickness, muscle tone, joint strength and most importantly, confidence through physical and mental discipline.

Taekwondo is a modern Korean martial sport, which along with Judo is one of only two Asian martial arts to make it into the Olympic Games. Taekwondo places major emphasis on flexibility and kicking techniques, using the leg's greater reach and power to disable the opponent from a distance, but hand techniques are also widely employed. Taekwondo offers a total fitness program integrating mind, body and spirit, and can be practiced by men and women of all ages.
