Bank of Astoria Extends Participation in FDIC Transaction Account Guarantee (TAG) Program
Columbia Bank is participating in the FDICs Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under this program, through December 31, 2010, all non-interest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. In addition, interest-bearing accounts committed to the program paying an interest rate of 0.25% or less are covered under the program. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDICs general deposit insurance rules.
