We are here to meet all of the needs for you and your loved ones with the goal of a longer, happier and healthier life. We accomplish this through compassionate health care, preventive and modern medicine, state of the art equipment and exemplary client service and education.
Our highly motivated and well-trained team of caring professionals is dedicated to the care of your pets from their neo-natal time through their geriatric years. Our services are designed with special consideration for each species, breed, age, life stage and any medical needs of your pet.
In addition to providing care for dogs and cats, we specialize in the care of pocket pets, birds, reptiles and other extraordinary pets. Our Doctors are educated in the many differences and intricacies of the myriad of exotics we see and our team is trained in the husbandry and supportive care of these pets. We also donate our time and services to help our wildlife in need.

With experience, confidence and community backing, the doors of Everett Veterinary Hospital opened on June 1, 1992 in an 1800 sq ft remodel.
After graduating from Veterinary School in 1987, I moved to Klamath Falls and worked as an associate veterinarian for 5 years. I loved my work but the dream of owning my own business was always present. So, I purchased this little four-plex and rented it while obtaining bank financing and designing a floor plan. Hospital construction was a labor of love and I surprisingly saw the first patient as the paint was literally drying. The first client walked in with Big Wig, her little cockatiel, bleeding to death from a broken blood feather. Although, construction was still not complete and no instruments yet on site, I improvised. Borrowing a needle nosed plier from the electrician, I removed the offending feather. Having no billing or bank set up yet, the client handed me my first $10.00 bill and left happy.
We opened our doors for business with only one full-time Certified Veterinary Technician and a part-time Receptionist. We continued to grow quickly and in January 2000, the building next door was purchased and plans to create a boarding facility began immediately. To save money, energized with delivery pizza, our friends helped us with the demolition work. Remodeling an old building proved to have many surprises including people stopping by to tell us some wonderful stories. One gentleman proposed to his wife here and another gentleman lived in one of the upstairs apartments. He described what living in downtown Klamath was like 50 plus years ago. After The Boarding House addition was complete, we then began the next project. We used the boarding facility as the veterinary hospital while upstairs was remodeled and more square footage was added. The two year project was challenging but very rewarding as it tripled the total square footage. We thank our client's patience through that tedious process. Our 9 year master plan was finally completed with the hiring of Dr. Tawnia Shaw in 2006. We added additional experienced team members, purchased new equipment and thus expanded our knowledge base, expertise and capabilities.
My love of antiques carries over into the hospital and Boarding House, which is decorated with sideboards, chests, chairs and a pew. The walls are covered with quilts and great photography. However, all of the equipment is state of the art including two laser units. Everything we do, from the selection of our staff and medical vendors to the careful design of our hospital, is done to ensure that excellent quality veterinary medicine and surgery are consistently performed.
Due to our reputation, Pet Co contacted us in 2007 and asked us to care for all of their exotic pets. Pleased with the results, they courted us this year to take over all of their dog and cat needs as well. We are honored.
It's hard to believe that we have been in business for almost 20 years. We love being part of this community and appreciate everyone that has supported us through the years, from opening our doors until today.

Our Referral Program is a win, win, win situation for everyone. This program helps you, your friends and us.

This is our way of thanking you for trusting us with your own pet's health care and that of your friends and family. Your referrals are the finest compliment you can give to us. In appreciation for referring new clients to Everett Veterinary Hospital and Boarding House, we offer a gift program.
When you refer new clients to our Hospital OR the Boarding House, you are rewarded with a great gift or a credit on your account, to be used for any services or inventory items.
We promise that they will receive the same high quality service and care from us that you have. All you need to do is write your name on one of our referral cards and hand them out to your friends. A word of mouth referral can also qualify for your gift. Just ask your friend or family member to write down your name when filling out our new client form during their first visit.
Your referred friend will receive 20% off their 1st office visit/exam or boarding vacation and you will receive a gift or credit on your account, upon their first visit.

If 5 of your friends have become new clients at either the Hospital or the Boarding House, we will credit your account $25.00. This is in addition to the $50.00 you have earned for the previous four referrals.
Our team is very grateful for your helping us to grow
and continue to care for you and your pets.
Please ask for more cards as needed or for further information on how this referral program works.
Feel free to bring your family and friends in for a tour anytime.

We work on an appointment basis so please call in advance. We schedule a minimum of 20 minute appointments to give us time to handle your wants, needs and concerns. We recognize how busy everyone is and make every effort to see each client at their pre-scheduled time and keep your waiting time to a minimum. However emergency cases receive top priority and may occasionally upset our schedule. We apologize if it occurs but request understanding. If you have an emergency, we will put you and your pet first as well. Please call at 541-884-2926 to schedule an appointment.
Failure to give 24 hours notice, if you are unable to make an appointment, may result in a $25.00 fee.

For your convenience and an accommodation fee, we also offer a drop-off alternative. We ask you to bring in your pet at your earliest convenience and fill out a form with your concerns any questions. After giving a physical exam, we will call you with our findings and recommendations. A scheduled pick up and consultation time can then be arranged based on both of our schedules.

If you have having problems getting your pet into our office or if you would prefer that we came to you, we gladly make house calls. The more common reason that house calls are made are for geriatric clients or patients, multiple pet households and for euthanasia. The fee is based on the distance traveled and time for the particular procedure. Call us for further details.

For everyone's safety, we ask that all pets be leashed or in a carrier. We appreciate your cooperation.

Payment in full is required at the time services are rendered. We are dedicated to delivering the finest and most comprehensive animal health care available as cost-effective as possible. Please help us to maintain our goal to keep our costs down by paying in full when services are rendered.
Payment options include:

Care Credit is a financial plan similar to other major credit cards than can be used at veterinarians as well as dentist, vision care, chiropractor and other healthcare practices. PRESCRIPTION (RX) POLICY
It is our policy and REQUIRED through both Oregon State and the FDA, that all pets receive a complete physical exam every year in order to be prescribed medication and/or receive any type of treatment. The FDA additionally requires that a physical exam must be performed every 6 months, if an animal is on long term medications. Laboratory blood work may also be required for refill of some prescriptions. Feel free to call us for more information.
Please call 24 hours in advance for Rx refills to allow us time to review your records for any needed exams or blood work.

Along with the joy of a new pet, comes the responsibility of pet ownership. This responsibility includes the cost of veterinary care. We encourage pet insurance and work with several companies and varying policies. Such policies typically provide reimbursement coverage for your pet's eligible medical treatments, surgeries, lab fees, X-rays and prescriptions. Some companies include exotic pets in addition to their dog and cat coverage. The best time to obtain coverage for a pet is when they are young.

At Everett Veterinary Hospital & Boarding House Inc. we pride ourselves on attending to both your needs as well as your pet. We recognize that everyone's time is valuable, so our goal is to keep your waiting time to a minimum. In order to help us with this goal, if you are a new client or if you need to update your information, please print and fill out the form and either:
