Oregon Ballet Academy, in partnership with Oregon Ballet Foundation, located in Eugene, offers inspired dance instruction in classical ballet technique, which provides a strong foundation for all other dance forms. Emphasis is placed on cultivating the dancers' ability to recognize their individual gifts, realize their full potential and express themselves with fluency while developing a strong technical base.
Director John Grensback, a professional ballet dancer with Houston Ballet (principal), New York City Ballet, and Joffrey Ballet, injects energy and enthusiasm into every facet of the school. In addition to extensive professional experience, he has learned from the best teachers in our time: Ben Stevenson, David Howard, George Balanchine, Margot Fonteyn, Robert Joffrey and more! He is 100% committed to passing on the legacy.
OBA’s teaching philosophy is to create dancers that are versatile rather than stylized, who are thus prepared to work with any company or dance form. Of course, we have lots of fun! After all, who wants to dance if you can't enjoy yourself? From preschool to pre-professional, our community of dancers and instructors are warm, inviting and supportive. We love what we do, and you will too.
