Our historyFounded in 1949 by Edward C. Harms, Jr., our firm has represented the City of Springfield and the Springfield Utility Board (SUB) for over 36 years.
Tim Harold, now retired, joined the firm in 1965 and expanded the practice to include extensive litigation. Tim is currently active in nonprofit homebuilding programs and continues to be available to the firm for consultation.
Joe Leahy, with the firm since 1976, has continued to build a strong team to meet client needs in the 21st century.

Community involvementSince the firm's early days, Leahy, Van Vactor & Cox has actively supported community organizations including the United Way of Lane County, Legal Aid Service of Lane County, St. Vincent de Paul Society of Lane County, Springfield Education Association, Emerald Empire Art Association, SMART (Start Making a Reader Today), and Springfield Chamber of Commerce. Our attorneys have volunteered for Lane County Senior Legal Services and helped Lane County foster children through the Junior League of Eugene, as well as contributed to the community through Rotary Club of Springfield.
