About Midtown Pilates Center
Midtown Pilates Center offers one-on-one Personal Pilates Training and GYROTONIC® training, the Egoscue® method, and two different types of Pilates group classes — Group Reformer classes and Group Mat classes:
Group Reformer classes use the reformer machine. The reformer is a spring-loaded apparatus that adds additional resistance to the participant's Pilates workout. Reformer classes are limited to six people.
Group Mat Classes are a series of Pilates exercises that take place on the mat and primarily use the participant's body as resistance. We also incorporate the fitness circle, fit ball and therabands into the Pilates mat class for added resistance. Mat classes are limited to 10 people.
Our Pilates instructors are Stott Pilates certified, and GYROTONIC® certified. We also offer the Egoscue® method. In using the Egoscue® method, the client goes through a postural assessment and is given a series of exercises that they will eventually be responsible for doing on their own.
If you are new to Pilates, we recommend our Introductory Package. This package is available once only to first-time clients. Clients who take advantage of this package will learn the basic principles, fundamentals and proper technique of Pilates.
"Pilates for Life" DVDs are for sale at the studio as well as online. Midtown Pilates Center provides all machines, mats, therabands, fitness circles, and fit balls used in our Pilates classes. We also sell therabands, fit balls & foam rollers for Pilates workouts at home.
I just started working with your pilates DVD's. I am very impressed because I have some back problems and I can use some exercises and not others. I like the way you say, "if you can't do this it's OK, but try this instead." It is a life saver for me. I also swim and that helps me too. I've never seen this type of DVD before. It is encouraging to know someone works with an older group. I'm 56, but I look younger. I'd like it to stay that way. Thanks for all you do for people who are older and not just the younger folks. — Jan Boles
