Having worked as a trust officer and portfolio manager for a national bank for thirteen years, I have been fortunate to have developed both a passion for working closely with individuals and the expertise to help them in the comprehensive management of their financial lives. In addition to practical experience in financial consulting and investment management, I have earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification to better enable me to assist people.
As an initial step, I like to have a no-obligation meeting with prospective clients to discuss what they are looking for in terms of assistance and whether my services are a good fit. I am most successful in helping people who are willing to openly discuss their financial affairs, have a sense of what is important to them, and can provide the necessary data.
One basic principle that I believe in very strongly is that fee-only services are the best way to deal with clients in the financial arena, and thus I have structured my practice at Blue Rock Financial Services so that I receive no commissions or other compensation on the sales of any products. I charge a fixed fee for financial planning, and a percentage of assets for investment management (there is no charge for our initial meeting). This means that my objectives are aligned with my clients' objectives, and my long-term success is tied to my clients' success.
