With over 45+ years combined career and human resources experience, PurposeWorks launched in 1997 out of our desire to provide career counseling and employment search consulting services that integrate highly individualized approaches with proven strategies to help clients achieve their goals. The result for PurposeWorks clients is knowing what they want to create in their careers, with the confidence and tools to create it.

PurposeWorks' founder, Doug Anders, has devoted his career to helping people adapt to change and build satisfying futures. While reevaluating his own career goals, Doug completed an in-depth self-assessment and career exploration program that guided him to apply his strengths and desires to the career counseling field.

Doug holds a Master of Science degree in counseling with an emphasis on career counseling and psychological assessment. He is a certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner.
Prior to starting PurposeWorks, Doug was a Career Counselor for one Seattle’s leading private career service firms, and for the University of Oregon Career Development Center. He possesses over twenty years of career development experience assisting professionals all over the country find their dream job.
