Re-vamping Our Cyber Shop
There's a lot that goes on behind the scenes here at the shop, and one of the big things we've been working on is a new website. We're trying to make out site more valuable for you by organizing it more clearly, adding content, and making it easier to find the information you need about our shop and your vehicle.
It's been a big undertaking that's getting close to completion, and we're almost ready to make the big jump. In the meantime, we're opening up the "beta" version of the site for your comment. There's still some tweaks going on, but if you'd like a sneak-peak just click the link at left.
Nose around and see what you think, and we'd appreciate any last-minute suggestions you might have!
When you're learning about a business for the first time, you're probably a little suspicious of what a company says about itself. You're looking for the "real deal" about them, objectively, not some marketing spin. That's why we asked our clients to help us out. We sent a camera to meet each client, and asked them to talk about their experience with Tom Dwyer Automotive. No actors. No scripts. No pay. Just folks like you telling you what they think. Click the link at right to see the results!
Riding our Courtesy Shuttle
We try to make it as convenient as possible for you to use our service, but sometimes it's hard to maintain your schedule while your vehicle's in the shop. That's why our Courtesy Shuttle is one of our most popular services. We can ferry you to anywhere in a 5-mile radius and then pick you up again when your vehicle is completed. However, coordinating rides all over the city can be hectic on our end, and it can mean upset clients if we can't meet expectations. To make things run smoothly for everyone, here are some details about how the Shuttle works.
Our Environmental Commitment
At Tom Dwyer Automotive Services, Inc., we act as a responsible member of the community and are committed to expanding our environmentally-conscious practices. As an Eco-Certified Carbon Neutral business, we make a difference by offsetting all of our carbon emissions through the purchase of Green Tags (Green-e certified renewable energy certificates). We continue to lead the industry as an Eco-Logical Business.
Our Carbon Neutral Program/350
The most recent science says that 350 parts per million(ppm) of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is the upper safe limit for our environment. Currently we are at 387ppm. Unless we can reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to 350 ppm, our goose is literally cooked! Go to www.350.org and learn about this worldwide 350 movement.
The Best Training Means the Best Repairs

We Don't Stop There...
Our commitment to customer service goes beyond our shop. We want to help you online as well. We offer car tips, appointments and helpful links on our web site.

In our newsletter we also mentioned a city council meeting which Tom attended. If you are interested, here is the link to the official Portland City Council Meeting recording in its entirety.
City of Portland went on record supporting a health care plan that actually makes sense. Plus, we got a great plug from Commissioner Randy Leonard. See all the action at http://www.portlandonline.com/index.cfm?c=49508&a=265131. The fun starts at time index 36:30 with a strong statement by Randy Leonard, and you'll find Tom's testimony from time index 51:45 to 56:00. (The plug from Commissioner Leonard runs from 56:00 to 57:00, and is really worth hearing). If this is something you support, then CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVE! Democracy doesn't work unless you do.
Best Place to Get Your Car Fixed
We were honored a few years ago when Willamette Week recognized us as "The Best Place For An Emotional Tune-Up". Although we were touched, we aren't the New Age crystal emporium the award may have lead some readers to believe. We're proud to announce that we just received another WW "Best Of" award this time as "The Best Place To Get Your Car Fixed"! Thank you to everyone who voted for us for this honor, from everyone here who works so hard to make our shop what it is. If you haven't picked up the latest Willy Week, just click the link at right to go see our award. Oh, yeah, and the 178 other coolest things about Portland!
