Santiam Hospital Sends Second Team to Haiti
Santiam Memorial Hospital recently sent a second team to the hospital at the Haitian Christian Mission in Fond Parisien, a rural community located approximately 45 minutes from Port-au-Prince. The team was led by Sara Dessieux, wife of Dr. Guesly Dessieux, who led the first team to Haiti from Santiam Memorial Hospital in the weeks following the devastating earthquake. The team included Susan Arbaugh, pharmacist; Debbie Turrell, RN; Don Turrell, RN; Lacie Hartlieb, CNA; Patricia Sherman, CNM; Juanita Culver, RN; Ami Crow, pharmacy technician; Darrell Mooers, director of laboratory; Louis McAllister, LPN; Marjorie Charlick, RN; Ryan Bielenberg, paramedic; Nick Lane, paramedic; Robert McGreevy, MD, general surgeon and his son, Patrick; and Eric Anundi, photographer. Five medical personnel from Colorado and Kansas City, including two doctors, a nurse and nursing student as well as an anesthesiologist, joined the Santiam team.
