Michael and Di recently attended a Campagnolo Seminar in Portland. Apparently the last Campagnolo Seminar held in the area was in 1992 and Michael was at that one as well.
He's holding a certificate dated from march of 1992 along with the famed Campagnolo Cork Screw - the "big" one and a collectors item in its own right.
Michael and Di represented the only attending shop from the Salem area and proudly display the emblem for the Worldwide Pro-Shop Project as being a Campagnolo Certified Pro-Shop.
Hello and welcome to South Salem Cycleworks. We're a dedicated bicycle shop located in the heart of the Willamette Valley and have been serving both new and experienced cyclists since 1991.

Attention! Attention! Breaking News!!!!
South Salem Cycleworks will be hosting a book signing by author Bill & Carol McGann on Monday, August 7, 2006 at 5pm. Their first volume of The Story of the Tour De France has only recently been published, and they are currently still working on the second and final volume. Bill, better known as Chairman Bill, the Merchant of Speed, and Carol, are the owners of Torelli

Owen Mulholland, a very well-known cyling journalist, says that this is the best history of the Tour De France. Mulholland was the first American journalist to be allowed to cover the Tour De France and is fluent in speaking and reading French.
As someone who has been riding a bike all my life and involved in the cycling industry for nearly 30 years, I'm always amazed at the insights Bill McGann provides, and his abiility to retrieve bits of events and components, and their respective sponsors or manufacturers. I know no one else in the industry that has that command over the history of cycling. I constantly refer customers to his website for answers to their questions on cycling. And while I haven't read this work yet, I'm sure it will be on a level, or exceeding, The Dancing Chain, the Evolution of the Derailleur.
I would encourage anyone who is fascinated with bicycles and the men who have ridden them in the Tour de France to attend our little soirée!

Michael also suggests that attendees bring their Torelli's and Mondonico's so that we can surround Bill with a plethora of bicycles.

We specialize in Italian hand-built custom road bikes by Torelli and Mondonico featuring Campagnolo parts and accessories. We also carry a full line of Mountain and Hybrid Bikes along with Mavic Rims/Wheels, Louis Garneau Clothing and Helmets, Vittoria Shoes, Detours bags, Ciclosport and Avocet Computers as well as a host of all things bike related.
If your interest lies in Mountain and Hybrid bikes then check out our Marin bicycle line. A cycling manufacturing company started by and still run by the same cyclist for nearly 20 years.
Two day's after the last ride of last year we now have the first ride of this year. Columbia River Gorge 2006.
Read Michael's account of the last ride of 2005 - the wet, wet, wet New Year's Eve ride of, well, 2005.
Please check out the story of Antonio's latest visit from Salem's own Statesman Journal. The article is also posted in our Gallery section.
We now carry Breezer bikes; the're great for commuting and traveling. Come in and check them out.
Also, we are a certified Campagnolo Pro Shop - check out the details at Campagnolo.com.

A couple of lovely models have offered to show off their assets wearing our latest sale item - Mondonico Tour t-shirts! Yes, the t-shirts are signed by both Antonio Mondonico and are availabe for a mere $25.00 in sizes up to XL and for $30.00 for XXL. Own a piece of cycling history; call and reserve yours today!
You know you want one.
Antonio Mondonico's last visit to South Salem Cycleworks was a tremendous hit and thanks to everyone involved. We had record turnout for meeting with Antonio and Mauro; 12 people were measured and fitted by the master framebuilder. Antonio and Mauro will be returning to Italy to work on frames before Antonio's retirement at the end of the year. The Mondonico family has been building fine, hand-made frames since 1929.
