Making the Workplace Work Right
At Dolan Griggs LLP, we view the practice of employment law foremost as a personal service. Our firm continually commits itself to:

deliver dynamic legal representation in established as well as emerging areas of employment law
efficiently manage services to achieve a successful outcome in a cost-effective manner
cultivate positive client partnerships based upon trust and responsive communications.

Our expertise and focus is on employment law representing both employees and employers. That is what we do. Because we limit our practice to this area, we can identify issues quickly and handle matters ranging from simple questions to complex litigation in an agile, efficient manner, which works to our clients' benefit. We provide clients with the resources to solve today's workplace challenges through a forward-thinking and strategic approach.
We work with employers to develop positive and productive employment practices designed to minimize conflict. Dolan Griggs LLP prides itself on a proactive approach to handling employer issues. We can assist management or human resource teams with intiatives ranging from the design of training programs and employee handbooks to performing audits and training employees in order to prevent future claims.
We work with employees on every type of discrimination claim, breach of contract, unpaid wages and retaliation, severance packages and more. We are committed to not only the prevention of disputes, but also the early resolution of those disputes that do arise.
At Will Employment
Generally, in the states of Oregon and Washington, where we practice, employment is considered to be at will. That means that either party (the employee or the employer) can terminate the employment relationship at any time for any reason that is not unlawful. However, a large number of state and federal laws provide employees with various rights, which protect them from discrimination, retaliation, and termination.
