As 2010 rapidly nears its end, our practice focus is directed to year-end tax planning for our numerous individual clients. It is difficult to write much about federal income taxes because of the uncertainty and work left to be done by Congress.
November is an ideal time of the year to begin preparing yourself for the 2010 tax season. As is the case every year, there are a few fine points to pay attention to in order to keep from paying too much – or, in some cases, facing penalties that could have been easily avoided. This year also saw six new tax laws enacted by Congress, compared with just two in 2009.

While it’s anyone guess how the economy will fare in 2011, the editors of “The Kiplinger Letter” offer up their annual predictions of what businesses can expect to spend. In summary, most everything will increase; however, there are a few surprises.
