We generally try to avoid probate, but if it becomes necessary to guide you through a court proceeding, we will handle all the legal work associated with your case, including accountings and tax filings. We will also assist you in the performance of your duties as the personal representative of the estate, and we will assure the orderly transfer of the estate assets.
If you are preparing to enter into a legal transaction or sign any kind of contract, we are available to advise you of your rights and liabilities. Your transaction or contact might be as simple as the purchase of a home or it may be as complicated as entering into a partnership or buying a business. While not limiting the scope of legal services offered, we do place emphasis on specific areas of legal practice in order to develop better skills and knowledge in those areas. Please call to reserve a meeting time. This will assure you of my availability and full attention to your concerns.
Emergencies: If you can’t reach me at my office number, call me at home at (503) 873-7919, and I’ll see you as soon as possible.
House Calls: Although I have fully equipped home office with a conference table, computers, copiers, fax machine, and so forth, I am also prepared to bring my portable computer and printer to your home or workplace and quickly prepare almost any document required. Night and weekend meeting times are available to provide you with convenient, timely and completely confidential legal services. This can be a real advantage to clients who work standard business hours.
Attorney Fees and Costs
My fees are usually billed on an hourly basis. Some projects, such as simple wills, may be handled on a flat fee basis. If not included in a flat fee, photocopy charges are billed at a rate of $.15 per page, and long distance telephone charges are billed at a minimum of $1.50. These charges are made regardless of actual costs to avoid extensive bookkeeping. Payment is due on completion of a project or within 10 days following the billing.
