La Clinica has provided quality heath care services for twenty years, since our inception in 1988. Our mission is to provide medical, dental, and mental health services, as well as social services to residents of Jackson County, Oregon who struggle to access affordable and quality health care. La Clinica operates health centers in
Phoenix, Medford, and Central Point.
We are very proud of the work we do at La Clinica. Through the committed efforts of 173 staff membersdoctors, family nurse practitioners, physician assistants, certified nurse midwives, mental health counselors, dentists, hygienists, social workers, and support staffwe provide the highest quality care at an affordable price.
In 2007, we cared for 12,522 patients, providing 52,855 patient visits. The great majority of our patients are low-income and uninsured and represent underserved communities: 75 percent are very low income; 50 percent are uninsured; 42 percent are Hispanic; 38 percent are children; and 9 percent are homeless.
Through federal grants and local community donations, La Clinica is able to offer significant discounts for all our services. These discounts remove the largest barrier our community has in accessing needed preventive and primary care. La Clinica also accepts private insurance, Medicare, and the Oregon Health Plan (OHP).
Plight of the uninsured hits home with La Clinica board member
Michael Boyce was employed but uninsured when he developed persistent pain. Frankly, we could not afford to just go see the doctor, says his wife Sandy, now a La Clinica board member. We had to adjust our budget and save for an appointment.
"No one should have to delay seeing a doctor because they cant afford medical care. La Clinica makes it possible for anyone to get the care they need regardless of their finances," board member, Sandy Boyce.
We are committed to providing high quality dental care for children. We know you will find our child-centered environment the right place for your child’s dental care.
